  The club meets at 7.00 pm on a Monday evening (Bank Holidays excepted) at the Lion Hotel, situated in the town centre on the A6. We enjoy fellowship over a meal and then listen to a talk or presentation organised in turn by the members - the subjects are wide ranging.

   We also make visits to local companies, historical buildings and the theatre and hold social events as part of our fund raising activities.

  Visitors are always welcome to come along to a meeting to see for themselves what goes on - just contact the Club Secretary using the link at the foot of this page.


  VISITORS SHOULD NOTE THAT THEY MUST TRY TO BOOK THEIR MEAL WITH THE LION HOTEL AT LEAST A DAY BEFORE THEY VISIT US.

This week, 15th January, our newest member, Tony Waldron, is giving his ‘My Job Talk’. On the menu there is a choice of Sausage & Mash with onion gravy or Potato, mushroom & cheddar Frittata followed by Syrup sponge with custard or there is  ice cream.


Hilary Surga has invited the Revd David Perkins along on 22nd to give a talk called ‘A Chatsworth Living’. To eat, there is Deep fried breaded brie with red onion marmalade followed by either Chicken & Mushroom pie with roasties & vegetables or  Mushroom & tarragon pasta with garlic bread.


It is a Club Business Meeting on 29th with Roast Dinner or Shallot & goats cheese tart followed by Eton mess.


Note - The Lion must have your meal choice by 6 pm on the Sunday before the meeting. (The meals are now £12.50)
